Alma was founded in 1992 by a group of Bay Area women with Argentinian roots under the support and auspices of the former Argentine Consulate in San Francisco.
Alma's goal is to help the poor and specially children.
Since its inception Alma has sent to Argentina many large shipping containers loaded with clothing, school materials and medical equipment.
At present it has become more effective to purchase most goods in Argentina and distribute them directly.
Alma has no offices or employees and functions entirely with the work of voluntaries and is financed by cash donations, membership fees and the product of cultural and artistic events.

Comedor San Martin de Porres in Moreno
Pcia de Buenos Aires, Argentina

A labor and mission of love founded and run by an elderly couple in their own home.
Here close to two hundred children get what is probably their only good meal of the day and also learn and play like all children should.
Just another site where the Argentinian Ladies Mercy Association has helped with food, clothing and even a modest playground.

ALMA is a tax exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code
